What we collect and why
- Reader list (newsletter). When you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We use them to send you the bonus content you asked for, news about new books and the occasional bonus scene, about once a month.
- Emails you send. If you write to hello@darcyhollis.com, we keep your message and address to reply to you.
We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone for their own marketing.
Legal basis
Your consent (GDPR article 6.1.a), which you give by ticking the box and confirming your subscription from the email we send you (double opt-in). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, or by writing to us. For emails you send us, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.
Who processes the data for us
- MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania, EU) stores the reader list and sends the emails. MailerLite privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and forwards emails sent to hello@darcyhollis.com. It may process technical data such as your IP address for security. Cloudflare privacy policy.
Some of these providers may transfer data outside the EU. When they do, they rely on the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that we may keep your address on a suppression list only so we never email you again by mistake. Emails you send us are kept for as long as the conversation needs, and at most two years.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@darcyhollis.com; we answer within one month. If you think we haven't handled your data properly, you can complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one in the country where you live.
Cookies
This site doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to block bots. The sign-up form is provided by MailerLite and works under their policy.
Age
The books and the newsletter are written for adult readers. Please don't sign up if you are under 18.
